The UCT Surgical Society is a student-led society affiliated with the Department of Surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. The Society was established in 2006 and aims to encourage and foster student leadership, research and outreach.

 

 

​The UCT Surgical Society established the COVID-19 Taskforce in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the adverse effects this has had on our healthcare sector. This is a student-led workforce comprised of over 200 students from the University of Cape Town, addressing COVID-19 specific needs, in order to contribute towards combatting the virus in South Africa.
